Navatech Ltd was contracted by Bibby Offshore to perform the seafastening and rigging for underwater spools recovery.

The Maersk Leadon decommissioning project required the recovery of spools onboard the Bibby Sapphire. Spools dimensions varied from 6" to 12" with 12m length.

Three sets of rigging needed to be designed. One set for single spools lift (lift from seabed to seabed), one for five bundle spools lift (lift from seabed to vessel deck of 6" and 8" spools), and another three bundle spools lift (lift from seabed to vessel deck of 12" spools).

The work included:
• CTR (cost time and resource) definition
• Liaise with project team to propose various design
• Single/bundle spools lift design and sea fastening design
• Liaise with drafting office
